Back into riding and writing...

Ok, well my feet have never really left the pegs, but with full time work which included a career change and full time school plus getting married, accumulating another child, the death of a great four legged friend and the acquisition of another plus a new house, side businesses, and teenage insanity...well let it just suffice to say I've been too busy to write much.

I've got a total of approximately 50 or 60,000 miles under my boots now. A lot of that lately has been commuting but even those miles have suffered due to an abnormally cold and icy winter. I'm hoping spring lays off the rain for the most part.

My goal is to start writing more and keeping on keepin' on.

Safe roads to y'all.

Flat Black Sew-On Reflective Fabric Tape

What happens in the worst case scenario...you've spilled the scoot, but you're alive? Then a car doesn't see you lying in the road and hits your ass. Well that's where Sew-On Reflective Fabric Tape comes in. This is the stuff that they put on reflective vests, etc. I'm going to try some bands of it on arms of my jacket and maybe across the back. I might sew some lengths down my chaps for good measure. I'm hoping that with all the reflective stuff, that you couldn't help but see me in the dark. Possibly better than in daylight!

Choices

I still have not decided on which specific model and make to get. It seems like the model is a much bigger factor than the acutal manufacturer for this reason--the manufacturer is not really making these scooters. They just are the major importer for them. Even the factory where they get the scooters doesn't really make much of anything--they assemble parts to make the scooter. And from everything I've heard, most all parts are just parts--with a few exceptions like the CFMoto engine vs. the Linhai. When it comes down to it though, that even seems minor unless you're a big gear head looking for the max horsepower. To the normal driver I don't think it would make much difference. This is my opinion and there are some people would would argue with that--I mean really argue.

There are other 250's out there for the MIC scooters. You can find them on sites like Evo Sales, Scootertronics, and other places too. Beware the ones on Ebay--only for the fact that you can get burned on shipping costs, and you WILL get burned on lack of support.

I still have 10-12 weeks to ponder, and see how things go. The MC-54B/Tank DE are appealing, but I want to see how the parts situation develops.
